‘A great example of the power of innovation’: The Chinese-built V8 engine is making waves in US engineering

The world’s first-ever V8 supercar is on track to break the world’s fastest lap in the United States and is already making waves with a few of its design engineers.

Chinese company China Southern Helicopters and the US government are jointly developing the V8 Supercar, which will be powered by an engine from the Chinese state-owned company Tianjin Heavy Industry (TSI).

The car has already been designed by a team of American engineers, including those from Toyota, the world leader in hybrid and electric vehicles.

The V8-powered supercar was first unveiled in September 2016, and is currently undergoing a series of tests in the Detroit Motor Show.
