Chemical engineers earn on average about $100,000 per year.
But the average salary for a chemist is $130,000, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
It’s a significant difference, and one that often goes unnoticed by employers.
That’s because many of the best-paying jobs in the industry are not jobs that pay much, if any, outside the office.
Chemists, by contrast, are known for their skills in chemistry.
They make the crucial chemicals used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
And they’re known for working long hours, often all day, six days a week, to produce the products they’re working on.
In fact, some companies pay chemists to work on their research and development projects, which typically cost hundreds of thousands of dollars per year, according the National Chemistry Council.
Some even pay them overtime.
And, because the work is so specialized, many chemists are often called upon to perform tasks that would be considered “non-essential” by most people.
But even though chemists tend to be considered essential workers, that doesn’t mean they aren’t getting paid well.
In this example, a chemical engineer works on a test tube at a lab.

Chemical engineers also earn more than other workers in a variety of occupations, according a recent analysis of government data by the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

In some industries, chemists receive a higher salary than other scientists.

In a handful of cases, chemist salaries can be so high that they make chemists’ lives better, according that analysis.

In other cases, they’re often not paid at all, even though they have a key role in the company’s production and testing.

And in many cases, even when they do get paid, the salary is so low that it’s often not enough to cover basic expenses.

In one of the examples cited by the center, the chemist working on the tube in a laboratory is getting paid $12,000 a year.
That is nearly 20 times less than a chemist in a similar position working in the same building.
He’s working at the same lab, but his pay is just $5,000 below the average.
In that case, the lab manager and the lab administrator are also receiving $12 for every hour they work, according an analysis by the National Science Foundation.
The worker, who asked to remain anonymous for this story, says that, even with the salary, he is struggling to make ends meet.
He says he’s lucky to have the money to keep his kids out of school.
And he says he doesn’t think he will ever make it.
He was just laid off from his job, which meant he had to work part time for the company to make rent and pay his bills.
“It’s not enough for me,” he said.
He had a chance to put down roots and make a career change in a town where he was already well known for his work, he said, and the pay was simply too much.
“They don’t pay me enough,” he told The Associated Press.
He has three kids to care for and, for now, he says, “I’m too poor to go back to school.”
The chemist who earned $12K/yr, a job that’s about 80% of the average pay, says he has to make a choice.
“I have to pay more or I have to be laid off,” he says.
“And I know it sounds crazy but it’s just like my family, and it’s not just me, it’s my kids and my grandkids.”
It’s difficult for him to make the transition to another career, he admits.
