The New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to trade quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced.
The deal will pay Brissetts $5 million in guaranteed money, the Jets announced Monday.
Brissett has yet to officially sign with Jacksonville, and the team has not yet released him.
Brisett was traded to the Jaguars on Dec. 1, but he was not available for the team’s season opener.
Brissette was a third-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and spent the last three seasons with the Jacksonville State University program.
He played two seasons in Jacksonville, starting 11 games in his rookie season before suffering a season-ending injury in the first game of the 2016 season.
He was placed on season-limited injured reserve last season after the team said he could not be cleared to return.
