Posted September 27, 2018 10:06:06 It’s no secret that a lot of folks who love to drive and drive really, really, REALLY hard can’t afford to buy a car that’s capable of pulling away from the pack.
But there are some serious reasons to be a little more skeptical of LS3s.
While the LFA engine has the same 6.0-liter V8 as the turbocharged LS3, the LTA engine has a much larger displacement and six-speed manual transmission.
Both engines are essentially the same engine design and should theoretically run pretty much the same on a road course, even if the LTS model does have more power.
This makes for a pretty interesting combination of engine and chassis for the L1L platform, as it’s going to require a lot more power to pull it off than the L2L.
However, while the L4 engine in the LTL is essentially identical to the LL, the engine is much more powerful than the LT1 and has significantly more torque to go with it.
The LS4’s torque curve is a little different than that of the LLT and L2 engine, which makes for an interesting combination.
However the LS4 is also the fastest engine in LTS.
That makes it the ideal candidate for the new L1 platform, which is going to be released in the third quarter of 2020.
