The Langley research center, home to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is hiring for an engineer, a NASA spokesman said Monday.
The hiring comes as the agency’s space shuttle program is under scrutiny for the death of a veteran and the retirement of a key crew member, who was one of three NASA astronauts who died in space.
The spokesman said the position would be an engineering career.
The job requires a high school diploma and experience in working on a NASA spacecraft, and would include space flight simulator and instrument testing, he said.
Research Center is the largest in the United States and is home to NASA’s Space Technology Institute, a research institute dedicated to space technology.
The center is in the San Francisco Bay Area.
