Posted May 06, 2017 08:25:20In 2017, the U.S. is expected to overtake China as the world’s largest engine maker, with engines produced for both civilian and military aircraft, military and civilian vehicles, and advanced defense systems, according to the United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
The aerospace giant says its aerospace division employs over 1.3 million people, and employs more than 5,000 in the UCC.
In its most recent fiscal year, the company generated revenue of $16.6 billion, and generated $7.4 billion in profit.
The company’s largest asset is its Advanced Technology Vehicle manufacturing plant, which was built by Pratt & Jarman and is located in Virginia.
This plant produces the Pratt &s; Markley and Mark V jet engines, as well as other jet engines and fuel tanks.
Pratt & Markleys are among the most powerful engines ever produced.UTC CEO and president Jim McGovern says UCC employs more engineers than any other aerospace and defense company.
“The aerospace community is one of the most diverse, inclusive and diverse industries in the country,” McGovern said in a statement.
“We are fortunate to have the talent at the UTC who are passionate about our mission, and who work to advance the technology and capabilities of our customers.”UTC has been investing in its UCC workforce, with an increase in the number of jobs in aerospace engineering, aerospace production, and the Advanced Technology Vehicles (ATV) production.
“UCC has more engineering graduates than any U.N. agency,” McNeil said.
“This means more opportunity for the next generation of engineers to advance our missions, and bring advanced technologies to our customers and the world.”
McGovern says the aerospace community should look to UCC for the right talent.
“Our aerospace workforce is a great asset to the UUC, to our state, and to the nation,” McNeill said.
